Czech Development Agency (CzDA) has been helping Tushetian inhabitants since 2010

In the beautiful mountain landscape of the Georgian region of Tusheti the Czech Development Agency (CzDA) has been helping the local inhabitants since 2010.

 Promoting potato production was one of the most successful activities of Czech Caritas in Tusheti. It was implemented in 2015-2018 within the "Supporting Traditional Livelihood Systems in Tusheti" project, which is supported by the Czech Development Agency.

The local population in the village of Shenako is still successfully using the knowledge and experience gained as a result of the project on locally arranged potato demonstration fields. They were able to increase not only productivity but also demand.

Currently, the price of potatoes produced in Tusheti reaches 2 - 2.50 GEL.
