Quality of medical services and its improvement is a big challenge for Georgia. Reforming of primary healthcare and health care quality improvement is one of the main priorities for the Government of Georgia.
On December 10 of 2019, the presentation of results of Phase I of the project „Launch of a System of Quality Improvement of Primary Healthcare in Georgia”, funded by the Czech Development Agency was officially opened by Jan Cernik, Head of Development Cooperation of the Czech Embassy and Jan Blinka, Head of mission of Caritas Czech Republic in Georgia
The meeting was attended by the officials of the Ministry of IDPs, labour, health and Social Aafairs, heads of 5 pilot primary health care facilities, partner organizations (WHO, UNICEF, British Medicial Journal), information system specialists and experts from the Quality Improvement Project of Caritas Czech Republic.
During the presentation’s course, the guests learned the results of Phase I including the current status of the use of the developed health information system intended for clinical data collection, exchange and analysis. The achievements and challenges as well as lessons learned were discussed.
At the end, the concept of future unified health information system was presented planned to be supported by the Czech Government.
