Cattle breeding is one of the lowest-income activities in Georgia. Farmers living in highland regions face many obstacles, including a lack of access to educational resources, farming equipment, and modern technologies. Despite this, each of them still desires to develop their farm and thus contribute not only to their own well-being but also to the socio-economic development of the local community.

While studying in Tbilisi, David dreamed of returning to his home region of Racha to start his own workshop. Despite Racha's underdevelopment and limited job opportunities, David was driven to create employment for his community. With support from Caritas Czech Republic, he opened a metal and plastic workshop, employing five people. Now, David plans to expand, grow his team, and continue contributing to the development of his beloved Racha.

To reach the village of Zemo Alveni in eastern Georgia, you have to drive along a narrow unpaved road. Two hours from the capital Tbilisi, a remote region awaits, where the traffic is jammed with slow-moving cows and herds of sheep graze on the vast hills. Their wool, which only a few years ago was thrown away and burned, now fills the premises of the processing plant in whose yard we are standing.
