What we do

We help where we are needed. We provide immediate humanitarian aid to people affected by war or natural disaster. As part of our development cooperation, we help people to cut loose and make a living. We focus on the development of health care and social protection as well as  rural development and environmental protection and actively work on systemic changes in Georgia.

Village Doctors Improved their Clinical Practice Thanks to the Support of USAID

Caritas Czech Republic has been strengthening Georgia’s primary healthcare (PHC) for years. Since 2022, thanks to the financial support of USAID, together with UNICEF, we are carrying out a project to improve the quality of child health services through practice facilitation and supportive supervision provided to the PHC practitioners in all regions of Georgia. Recently, we had a chance to visit a rural ambulatory in Jugaani village in Sighnaghi municipality to learn how the practice facilitation helps rural doctors in improvement the quality of provided services on a daily basis.

"Disability, Bioethics and Human Rights in Health" Round Table Brings Together PwDs' NGOs

Caritas Czech Republic has been addressing the disability issue for years aiming at protecting the rights of persons with disabilities (PwDs) and providing them with proper service. Since 2022, together with United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Georgia Country Office, we are carrying out a project that will support the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) under the Joint Programme “Leave No One Behind — From Policy and Principles to Practice in Disability-Inclusive Development in Georgia”. To this end, UNFPA Country Office and Caritas Czech Republic held a meeting with the representatives of the Parliament of Georgia and the PwD community to discuss the challenges the latter meets in healthcare sector and initiate respective changes in Georgian healthcare legislation.

With the Support of Czech Development Agency, Georgia Receives Comprehensive IT Solutions for PHC

Caritas Czech Republic has been supporting Georgia’s healthcare system since its country office’s establishment in 2015. Since then, we have been working not only on the capacity-building of family doctors, but also on the introduction of IT solutions to primary healthcare. Within the framework of the Czech Development Agency-funded project, various electronic information products were created, many of which significantly contributed to the increase of the quality of primary healthcare in rural areas and to the management of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
