What we do

We help where we are needed. We provide immediate humanitarian aid to people affected by war or natural disaster. As part of our development cooperation, we help people to cut loose and make a living. We focus on the development of health care and social protection as well as  rural development and environmental protection and actively work on systemic changes in Georgia.

As every year, this March Caritas joins the Colorectal Cancer Awareness month. Colorectal cancer is the third most common type of cancer in Georgia, accounting for 6.9% of all cancers. It’s also one of the most preventable and treatable types. That is why awareness is so important. Caritas Czech Republic works to contribute to increasing cancer awareness and prevention in Georgia.

Thanks to our support, Georgia has a new organic farm

Upper Adjaria is beautiful, but life has not always been easy for people there. Who wants to succeed in this wild part of Georgia has to be creative and willing to work hard. Guram Dzirkvadze is one of those people. He has built up a prosperous organic farm with his own hands. Thanks to the support of Caritas Czech Republic, he can now export his products further afield, and ultimately make it to the European market.

Thanks to her determination and our support, Mzevinar from Georgia could start her own business

Mountainous Adjaria is one of the least developed and poorest regions in Georgia. Finding work is a real challenge there. Caritas Czech Republic is helping local people start their own business and create sustainable jobs to prevent work migration from the region. One of the people we helped is Mzevinar Iremadze, who focuses on traditional techniques of embroidery and knitting. Thanks to the support she had received from us, she could open her own small studio, and her products reach more customers further away.
