Caritas Czech Republic trained nearly 1000 doctors in distant COVID-19 management

After the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a pandemic, the Government of Georgia (GoG) announced a state of emergency with series of measures to deal with global pandemic. One of the essential and immediate interventions introduced by GoG has been a remote patient care provided by family doctors, who – however – needed to be first trained in this new method. This was job for Caritas Czech Republic team, which reacted swiftly on occurred needs and during several weeks trained and supervised nearly 1000 doctors in the country.

This day once again reminds us that every child has the right to "a standard of living adequate for the child's physical, mental, spiritual, moral and social development”. Further, a child who is temporarily or permanently deprived of his or her family environment has the right to assistance and protection from the State (Unicef Convention on the Rights of the Child, Article 27, Article 20).

Caritas Czech Republic continues to respond to Covid-19 related needs

Today we visited the orphanage home at Nutsubidze street to hand over computer equipment and Personal Protective equipment for the staff of the home.

The computer equipment will help the staff to be fully involved in the online training which Caritas Czech Republic will start for them tomorrow. The aim of the trainings is to enhance existing services provided to beneficiaries of the home before relevant services are available, including long term care service being developed in the frame of our project.

The activity is a part of the project “Establishment of Children’s long term and palliative care services in Georgia” funded by the Czech Development Agency.
