Caritas Czech Republic starts to implement two projects in Racha-Letskhumi

Caritas Czech Republic, with the financial support of Slovak Aid, in Racha-Letskhumi and Kvemo Svaneti Region of Georgia, namely in Oni and Ambrolauri municipalities started two projects - “Mitigating the negative economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the population of the Georgian mountain region of Racha” and “Supporting green actions in Oni Municipality through the development of waste management infrastructure”.

In 2020, Caritas Czech Republic celebrates five years of its mission in Georgia

The year 2020 is important for Caritas Czech Republic (CCR) as it marks five years since the registration of its branch in Georgia. In 2015, the local representation of CCR was officially registered as “Caritas Czech Republic in Georgia”. Since that time, Czech Caritas has implemented about twenty development projects and improved the lives of thousands, focusing in particular on people with disabilities, children with autism and people living in mountainous regions.

In frame of the ENPARD program, Caritas Czech Republic in Georgia (Head of the mission: Jan Blinka) is a donor organization in Khulo municipality. In frame of ENPARD Khulo project in 2018 has been founded local community organization ‘’Khulo Local Action Group (Khulo LAG), which is coordinated by Aslan Artmeladze. He is guest of newspaper ‘’Ajara’’.

Caritas Czech Republic trained nearly 1000 doctors in distant COVID-19 management

After the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a pandemic, the Government of Georgia (GoG) announced a state of emergency with series of measures to deal with global pandemic. One of the essential and immediate interventions introduced by GoG has been a remote patient care provided by family doctors, who – however – needed to be first trained in this new method. This was job for Caritas Czech Republic team, which reacted swiftly on occurred needs and during several weeks trained and supervised nearly 1000 doctors in the country.

The first day of summer – The first of June is the International Children's Day. This day once again reminds us that every child has the right to "a standard of living adequate for the child's physical, mental, spiritual, moral and social development”. Further, a child who is temporarily or permanently deprived of his or her family environment has the right to assistance and protection from the State (Unicef Convention on the Rights of the Child, Article 27, Article 20).
