What we do

We help where we are needed. We provide immediate humanitarian aid to people affected by war or natural disaster. As part of our development cooperation, we help people to cut loose and make a living. We focus on the development of health care and social protection as well as  rural development and environmental protection and actively work on systemic changes in Georgia.

With the support of the European Union, Tamar from Georgia, who has a hearing impairment, is helping other young persons with disabilities find employment

In Georgia, the number of young people who are neither employed nor receiving education or participating in training or educational programmes is relatively high. Additionally, there are a lot of young persons with disabilities, internally displaced persons, and socially vulnerable youth who are unemployed and cannot be involved in educational processes. All this results in a large number of vulnerable youths who do not even know what steps they need to take to enter the job market.

There are currently more than 122 million displaced people in the world. Whether they have fled abroad or stayed in their countries, they are trying to start again from zero in new places. Refugees, despite many prejudices, do not wait with their hand out for help, but instead want to work, study and stand on their own two feet. But they need support at the beginning to succeed. Caritas Czech Republic is helping them to do just that.

Project aim: to promote the mental health of the population of Georgia by improving the knowledge and skills of the medical staff working in the primary health care system to manage certain mental health conditions by the primary health care link; ensuring better coordination between the primary care and hospital sectors; Facilitating the implementation of the 2022-2030 national strategy for mental health.
