What we do

We help where we are needed. We provide immediate humanitarian aid to people affected by war or natural disaster. As part of our development cooperation, we help people to cut loose and make a living. We focus on the development of health care and social protection as well as  rural development and environmental protection and actively work on systemic changes in Georgia.

Caritas Czech Republic launches DG ECHO-funded project to help refugees in Moldova

Moldova, the poorest country in Europe, has received the largest number of refugees per capita since the start of the war in Ukraine. Although the country welcomed refugees with open arms, it soon reached the limits of its capacity. Caritas Czech Republic launched a project in Moldova to help vulnerable refugees. In total, we will support over 200,000 refugees, relieving the overburdened Moldovan state.

Ivano-Frankivsk takes care of 150,000 refugees. We are helping too

Ivano-Frankivsk has become a temporary home for at least 150,000 people fleeing the war. The local Archbishopric is also providing them with a roof over their heads and basic needs. We are helping too. A few days after the delivery of 20 tons of humanitarian aid, a letter arrived from Ivano-Frankivsk. "Danken wir ganz herzlich (thank you very much)," writes Volodymyr Vijtyshyn, explaining how the delivery will help the 1,600 refugees the archbishopric is taking care of.

UNFPA Georgia and Caritas Czech Republic Promote Accessibility to Rights-Based Healthcare for PwDs

Caritas Czech Republic works on promoting accessibility to the rights-based healthcare services for persons with disabilities (PwDs) and in partnership with the UNFPA Georgia Country Office started a new initiative that will support the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) under the Joint Programme “Leave No One Behind — from Policy and Principles to Practice in Disability-Inclusive Development in Georgia”.
